The big D has hit The Bachelor franchise. Chris Harrison is splitting from his wife, Gwen, after 18 years of marriage.  The pair have two sons, Joshua, 9, Taylor, 7.  Harrison told People Magazine:

“I had an amazing 18-year marriage to an incredible woman. I don’t have any regrets about the last 22 years of my life, the love and family that I had or the love and friendship that I have now [with Gwen]. I still hold that very dear and cherish it very much.”

After Chris announced his divorce, there was chatter about him becoming the next Bachelor contestant, but Harrison put that to rest for the time being (although not ruling it out entirely.) And never abandoning his duties as bachelor/ette host he added:

I still, and maybe more than ever, believe in the search and what everybody is doing on the show because I’ve been there and I lived that life. I’ve loved deeply with [my] whole heart and know how great it can be. I will hopefully fall in love and find that again.

All of this and he still manages to get in a plug for this upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Well done, sir. Hats off to you.  There was a reason you were named best host.  Let’s hope bachelorette, Emily Maynard, is a little more lucky in love.
